  • Mainly used in steel alloys

  • Is special because of its very high melting point

  • It is neccesary for plants to live because it lets the plants (in certain situations) absorb nitrogen

  • Silvery-white in colour

  • Melting point = 2610 °C

  • Boiling point = 4825 °C

  • Atomic mass = 95.94 g

MINING MOLYBDENUM

  • 90.000 tonnes of moly is mined per year

  • Mines are in almost every continent

  • The USA, Chile, Russia, and Canada are the major miners of moly

  • Moly is usually found in layers when mined

  • Is it usually found near the top of the earth, and so open pit mining is used

  • Sometimes it is found in ore with tungsen and copper
